ABOUT SoL

School of Law, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, is one of the best-rated law schools in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It was founded in 1998 by the state government and has received BCI recognition. It is a top law school with the primary purpose of educating students for a difficult and demanding career in the profession of law. The first goal of this institute is to promote interdisciplinary thinking and to give students a solid foundation in the social sciences. Students also receive instruction outside of the classroom through case techniques, moot court competitions, seminars, and workshops. Furthermore, The program includes plenty of interaction with judges, attorneys, law enforcement officials, and legal luminaries. NTA administers the Common University Entrance Exam (CUET) annually to admit students to the college. It also provides semester-based undergraduate and graduate programs.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya campus has a School of Law building with plenty of classrooms and all the essential amenities. The college has two libraries, one departmental and one central, both of which include extensive collections of the most recent encyclopedias, case studies, and law literature. Also, SCC Online and Manupatra were accessible to students via high-speed wifi for their research projects. It currently has a subscription to 10 national-level law magazines and more than 3000 law books on its shelves. Sports facilities are also a focus of SoL as they improve the learning environment.

Additionally, For boys, girls, and teaching staff, there is a residence on the campus, which creates a welcoming environment.

Under the campus, there is a medical facility available to handle any emergency case.

Students can also get assistance with online scholarships and other relevant difficulties from the IT center and bank on campus.

FEE STRUCTURE     

The following fees are an estimate for the course’s annual cost:

  • B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) –  ₹56k -57 k
  • LL.M. – ₹ 23k – 24k
  • M.Phil -₹ 35k-40k
  • Ph.d. –   ₹38k- 40k

FACULTY

For the aim of high-quality education, the School of Law hires only the most talented academics. Each batch has a coordinator who oversees matters pertaining to that batch. Faculty members are available for any type of academic grievance in addition to giving lectures. When appropriate, the institute also organizes special classes for skill development.

CURRICULUM

All course curriculum is designed in such a way that the pass-outs of the program shall develop the ability to take rational and informed decisions by taking into consideration the different perspectives and their outcomes. The pass-outs students shall also develop the capacity to elicit views and debate in a healthy manner what is required in the core of being successful in various fields associated with law/judiciary disciplines. Also, their thinking and analytical skills shall increase considerably, they shall also be knowledgeable about recent and emerging trends concerning the Law discipline M.Phil being a research degree program, the students are expected to develop their research capabilities and skill by the time course is completed.

PLACEMENT

Better backgrounds are provided by the School of Law, aiding in placement and internship opportunities. However, A number of prestigious business offices, law firms, workshops, and seminars are now employing its pupils.

Co-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Axiom

It is derived from a geek word axiom which means to deem worthy. Axiom is the annual fest of the School of Law, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya which is organized by fifth-year students and includes various cultural programs, and co-scholastic activities such as debate competitions, and quiz competitions.

Tejas

The annual sports fest of School Of Law, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. It is an intra-college sports activity. It includes all major sports like Cricket, Football, and Basketball. etc.

Adhivaktavya

Adhivaktavya is a series of guest lectures where eminent professional law speakers guide the students about various aspects and fields of law. It has organized a safe, cyber security seminar, road safety(traffic rules)seminar, etc.

Dikshant Samaroh (Graduation Ceremony)

The convocation ceremony of the institute where the graduated students are given departmental degrees by the eminent personalities of the University and law professionals to pass way to their future in a better manner.

Moot Court Competition

Students are actively participating in various inter-college Moot Court Competitions and securing good positions with the guidance and cooperation of staff and the HOD of the institute leading to the department’s goodwill at a great level.

NSS National Service Scheme (NSS)

It is a social activity of the institute where students groom socially as well as educationally by participating in various activities of NSS.

Red Ribbon Club

The department is also an active member of the Red Ribbon Club in which students perform various activities, blood donation camps, and awareness among people regarding HIV-AIDS and Blood Donation.

Institutes take students to court and then visit to make them realize the reality of the legal field and enhance practical knowledge among them.

STUDENT’S LIFE

The senior-junior culture of the School of Law, which is nothing more than a family relationship, is its best feature. When a new student enrolls in college, he looks for someone familiar to him. Instead, he meets his senior mates, who mentor him, inspire him, and lift his spirits. The institute plans an induction program to introduce students to college officials. Senior mates also host an unofficial freshmen party to foster positive relationships with the freshers. Furthermore Senior mates assist their juniors in any way they can and serve as a constant reminder of their purpose. Above all, It has been an invaluable resource for their juniors in everything from mooting to partying.
