INTRODUCTION
Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) is ranked 76th in the Engineering category & 79th in the Management category by NIRF 2023 ranking. Manipal University Jaipur, a private university, was established in 2011 and is a part of the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG). Manipal University Jaipur offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various fields such as engineering, management, basic and applied sciences, humanities, social sciences, journalism and mass communication, and law. The university also offers various diploma and certificate courses in niche areas. Students who have completed the MET certificate exam administered by the university are admitted to the undergraduate programmes. Entrance to PG programmes is determined on merit.
Manipal University Jaipur is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade. Manipal University Jaipur has also been ranked among the top private universities in India by various ranking agencies. Manipal University Jaipur is ranked 151 – 200 (band) in overall category by NIRF 2023. Manipal University Jaipur Placements 2023 is concluded with 98% placements & 1479+ offers. The average package stood at INR 7.5 LPA. 9% of the total offers were made above INR 30 LPA. There was a participation of 289+ recruiters during the placement drive.
INFRASTRUCTURE
The only thing that attracts students to the college is the infrastructure. With rooms that are not short of any 5-star hotel, the hostel can surely pack a punch against any average hotel from a tier 2 city. Although there are minor inconveniences that are common in any other hostel in India, it surely stands out among the rest. The mess, sports, and medical facilities are top-notch in the hostel, with some work required on the college side for the football field. The hostel is well-equipped with fire alarms, power backup, and water coolers everywhere. The games room includes facilities such as Table Tennis, Pool, and Chess Tables for everyone’s enjoyment. Food quality is very good and clean. All facilities are provided by the hostel, like big food courts and a shopping area. A salon is also provided by the hostel. Discipline is maintained. The library is available for architecture and design students separately.
FEE STRUCTURE FOR INTEGRATED BA LLB (hons.)
The Five-Year Integrated BA LLB (Hons.) undergraduate program which focuses on the study of the core subjects of law and Arts along with their practical intricacies. The program is structured in a way so that the students shall be trained for the corporate law industry as well as litigation & adjudicatory practice. All the programs at MUJ are designed as a highly flexible learner-centric Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) aligned with UGC and NEP guidelines and in compliance with BCI regulations. The school aims to foster academic excellence among the students through Outcome-Based Learning methods. The Course offered by the School of Law has been carefully crafted and designed to ensure that its graduates are qualified as industry-ready professionals. The candidate must have a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in any subject/stream of 10+2 examinations from any recognized Board in India. The annual tuition fee is Rs. 212000. The one-time registration fee is Rs. 10000 and the caution deposit which is refundable is Rs. 10000.
FACULTY
Department of Law (A&S) comprises integrated BA LLB (Hons) where students are trained for the corporate law industry as well as litigation & adjudicatory practice. FACILITIES
LIBRARY :
The Faculty of Arts & Law Library of MUJ has a spacious area of 150 Sq.m. that exudes a peaceful learning environment. The Library is fully air-conditioned with the seating capacity of 100. The FoA&L Library employs Koha: LMS software for access control, automatic issue and return of library documents, and stock verification of library holdings. The FoA&L Library has a collection of 9000 books with 1900 titles on various subjects and over 300 reference books. It subscribes to about 50 national and international print journals and holds over 150 project reports and 7 Ph.D Thesis. The Digital Library has subscribed 6 E-Resources including 1500 e-journals, manuals, reports, standards, and other information from Manupatra, Lexis India, Supreme Court Cases, and AIR Online The Digital library holds nearly 500 CDs and DVDs. The FoA&L Library has established an Institutional Repository using Dspace: A Digital Library Software. The FoA&L Library provides off-campus access to all of its subscribed contents to the students, faculty, and research scholars through username and password using Knimbus software.
PRACTICAL EXPOSURE :
Students engage in moot courts, internships, legal aid clinics, and various cells focused on human rights, consumer protection, and alternative dispute resolution. These activities provide hands-on experience and enhance practical skills.
PLACEMENTS
Almost 70% out of 120 students got placed from our college in different firms and companies. Top recruiting companies are AZB & Partners, Amazon, etc.
INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS
NETWORK n + i :
Manipal University Jaipur has signed an MOU with n + i, a network of 70 French Institutions. It enables students to gain experience at any of these institutions in France. Interested students may learn about institutions, programmes offered by them, scholarships available and the application procedure. Students may also focus on funding opportunities from Indian institutions to support the project work.
ACCA :
The university has academic collaboration with Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK. In this program, the student will have the option of obtaining an ACCA qualification along with a graduate degree of B.Com (Hons.) Accounting.
CIMA :
Collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in the United Kingdom is intended to connect the B.Com and BBA students with the world’s largest professional body of management accountants. It enables students to use the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation and be part of a global network. CIMA offers five levels of courses. Students must complete all levels to become a member of the international professional body; students have the option to exit the course on completion of each level. CIMA awards certificates according to the students’ successful completion of the prescribed papers at each level.
IAESTE :
The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE), founded in 1948 at Imperial College London is an independent, non-profit and non-political organization for operational and consultative relationships with agencies of the United Nations. With headquarters in Austria, it has a presence in over 85 countries. Annually, IAESTE exchanges more than 6,000 students, playing a role in the development of students.
CONCLUSION
Overall, Manipal University Jaipur’s School of Law stands out as a premier institution for legal studies in India. It combines a rigorous academic curriculum with ample opportunities for practical learning and professional development, supported by excellent infrastructure and a strong placement record. This holistic approach ensures that graduates are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the legal profession.
