Introduction
Haldia Law College, affiliated with Vidyasagar University, was established in 2002 under the chairmanship of Director Laxman Chandra Seith. Located in Haldia, West Bengal, the college offers legal education and training to aspiring lawyers. With a commitment to excellence, it provides a platform for students to develop their legal knowledge, critical thinking, and advocacy skills. Over the years, Haldia Law College has significantly contributed to the legal fraternity by producing competent professionals who contribute to the justice system.
Infrastructure
Haldia Law College boasts a well-structured infrastructure with modern facilities to support its students. The campus spans approximately 3.57 acres, encompassing academic buildings, administrative blocks, and green spaces. Haldia Law College strives to create an environment conducive to holistic learning and personal growth.
- Library: The college library is a treasure trove for law students. It houses an extensive collection of legal literature, including textbooks, reference books, journals, and research papers. Students can access legal databases, e-journals, and online resources to enhance their understanding of legal concepts.
- Moot court: The Mahatma Gandhi Moot Court Hall provides a realistic courtroom experience. It’s where students practice their advocacy skills, participate in mock trials, and argue cases. The setup includes a judge’s bench, a witness stand, and seating for lawyers, just like an actual courtroom.
- Auditorium: The spacious auditorium hosts seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and cultural events. It’s a hub for intellectual exchange and community-building.
- WI FI connectivity: The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled, allowing students to access online legal databases, and research materials, and collaborate seamlessly.
- Sports Facilities: The college encourages physical fitness and sportsmanship. Students can engage in football, cricket, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess, and carom.
- Hostels: Separate hostels for boys and girls, managed by ICARE (the parent body of the college). Furnished rooms with cots, mattresses, reading tables, and chairs. You can also get a PG and personal room at very reasonable prices.
Courses
Mainly our college provides only these three types of courses:
B.A. LL. B (Honours):
- Candidates must have completed 10+2 education from a recognized board.
- Minimum aggregate score required: 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates).
- OBC candidates need an aggregate score of 42% in 10+2 to qualify for admission.
LL. B (3-year course):
- Graduation in any stream is required.
- The minimum aggregate score required: 45% (40% for reserved category candidates).
LL.M (2-year course):
- Candidates must possess an LL. B degree.
- Minimum aggregate score required: 50%.
To be added recently our college provides a Company secretary course, this course prepares students for a career as company secretaries, focusing on corporate governance, legal compliance, and management.

Faculty
The faculty of my college is the best in terms of teaching and terms of their academic qualification. I did not mention any specific name but I assure you that you can get the best learning experience.
Student Life

Senior-junior culture: At my college, there is a strict policy against hazing or any form of misconduct. Seniors are approachable and often initiate friendly introductions. There’s no need to be concerned, as they are genuinely supportive and take on a mentorship role akin to that of an older sibling or additional educators.

As a student of this college, I can confidently say that this is a place where raw talent is nurtured into legal expertise, and where every student undergoes a transformative journey.
