Sushant Singh Rajput Death
The Supreme Court ordered today that the CBI will be conferred the investigation into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
SC, further ordered the Mumbai police to hand over all evidence, collecteded by them to the agency. It is a win for Bihar in its tussle with Maharashtra.
The Supreme Court was hearing actor Rhea Chakraborty’s petition seeking transfer of investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput death case from Patna in Bihar to Mumbai.
A bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy stated that, it is a court-ordered CBI probe and that there is no room for the Maharashtra government to challenge the transfer of case to CBI in SSR death case.
They also stated that the FIR registration at Patna was legally valid, as it adhered to the principles of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973. further , the court added, the recommendation made by Bihar government for a CBI investigation was also proper and valid.
Reading out the main part of the 35-page judgment, Justice Roy also said that Maharashtra government must comply with the orders.
Ankita Lokhande, Akshay Kumar and Rajput’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti have rejoiced the verdict.
Sushant Rajput was found dead at his apartment in Mumbai’s Bandra on June 14. The initial investigation done by the Mumbai Police revealed that prima facie it was a case of suicide. … The provisional post mortem report revealed that the cause of death was asphyxia due to hanging.
